Creating the Project Scaffold

A framework born inside real work

The Scaffold emerged while lcd97 and Archivo 21 were documenting the ANHQV × The Sims 2 Preservation Project. The project needed to preserve not only its outputs, but the means by which those outputs were produced.

The institutional split

As Archivo 21 developed, the collaborators separated the institution from its flagship project. This produced the principle structure without annexation: a framework may help an independent project without absorbing its name, identity or future.

The abstraction problem

A private reconstruction established detailed rules for openness, attribution, preservation, versioning, governance and human–AI responsibility. The work was sound, but it was defining a constitutional perimeter faster than it was producing a usable object.

“Are we actually creating the scaffold or just imagining abstractly what it might one day become?”

That intervention stopped the question rounds. The minimum working structure was defined and the first complete package was built.

Why publish the detour

The detour explains the finished design. Governance is trigger-based, the start guide includes anti-bureaucracy stop rules and the fictional pilot produces audio, images and preservation records rather than only text.

Redaction

The public reconstruction omits private personal information, external individuals, security details, unrelated correspondence, abandoned person-directed material and raw conversational repetition. Fuller source records remain privately preserved.

Authorship and accountability

The Scaffold was developed collaboratively by lcd97 (ANHQV-HUM-001) and Archivo 21 (ANHQV-AI-001). Material AI contribution is recorded without transferring legal or real-world accountability away from the human founder.

Publication

After inspecting the first package, lcd97 authorised publication with Y²K, Archivo 21 shorthand for “Ship it.”
